Website Accessibility Audits

What is a website accessibility audit?

This is an expert evaluation of your website to W3C accessibility guidelines and standards. Conformance to these standards will ensure that your website is fully inclusive for people with a range of disabilities.

Why should I request a website accessibility audit?

If somebody with a disability such as sight loss, cannot access the information on a website then it can be deemed as discrimination. As such there is a legal requirement for website and business owners to ensure that websites are fully inclusive for all people of all abilities.

There is also a strong commercial reason to ensure websites are fully accessible as there are an estimated 80 million disabled people in Europe, representing a large proportion of the online community, and if your website is inaccessible you are potentially losing business.

What accessibility services do WSI offer?

  • Website Accessibility Audits - At WSI Jersey we offer full website audits for companies wishing to attain a specific level of conformance to the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0.  These audits involve a detailed analysis of your website, and will provide you with a comprehensive assessment of its accessibility level.  The report will also contain recommended solutions for any issues identified during the testing.
  • Accessibility Health Check – As an alternative to a full website audit, we now also offer Accessibility Health Check reports. This service involves testing your website to see if disabled people will be able to perform the most important of tasks.  A report detailing any exceptions and recommended actions will be provided once the testing is complete.

Why chose WSI?

WSI Jersey has recently partnered with the UK charity Action For Better Access, to provide online accessibility services in the aim of assisting online service providers, to become more digitally inclusive.

This partnership allows us to provide comprehensive website audits, carried out by highly experienced staff whilst also utilising a panel of disabled users for testing purposes.
